On this Havana Long Weekend Tour, you can expect your complete itinerary from accommodations, transportation, ticketing, and meals to be previously arranged for you, as you will be accompanied for the entire tour by a Gardner Tours professional guide, educated on Cuban culture, history, and is eager to serve you. All we ask of you is to simply enjoy yourself! In the event that something changes or doesn’t go as planned, please be patient and courteous, as it is our guarantee that our guides will handle any challenges with timely grace. It’s our goal to ensure that you are taken care of and receive the authentic Cuban experience you desire.
Each of our guides are experienced and able to answer almost any question that you may have during your tour. You will have complete freedom to take your tour at the pace you please, stopping as often as you like for a rest on your walking tour, returning to that one souvenir shop for the fifth time, or simply enjoying your dinner just a little longer than you normally would. Your guide will give you time and space to enjoy each lunch as you please, with or without them. Your guide will meet you at your arranged time each morning at your BnB to begin your day and will drop you off at your BnB each night. They will serve you along the way and ensure that you are well taken care of during your entire stay.
*Cigar Factories in Cuba are closed on the weekends as well as two longer holidays during the year. If you book during these times, we will adjust to ensure that you experience the cigar making process.
**The Grand Theatre of Havana takes random breaks from shows at certain times in the year. In the even that you book during these times, we will make adjustments and take you to another show, such as the famous Cabaret Parisien or the Buena Vista Social Club.
***Your accommodations will be at a Cuban BnB equipped with air-conditioner as well as a private bathroom. Each of our accommodation partners provide private rooms with a full bed and a twin bed, and can occupy up to three persons per room. Based upon the time your flight arrives to José Martí International Airport in Havana, your professional guide will be waiting for you at your final customs exit. Following the ride into Old Havana, you will get settled into your BnB, then kick your tour off with a bang on a two-hour Classic Car Tour of the city! You will visit Havana’s most remarkable sites such as the Christ Statue overlooking the city, the Morro Castle, Revolution Square, the Capitol, the Vedado neighborhood, and finish with a breezy cruise down the Malecón (seawall) at sunset. After your classic car tour, you will be dropped off at our favorite restaurant in the city to experience their mouth-watering cuisine and the live music that the alley offers! If you choose, your guide will drop you off at your BnB after dinner. If you desire to explore the nightlife of Old Havana, you will be free to do so.
Day two will include an incredible Cigar Factory Tour, Cuban Cocktail Lesson, and a show at the world-famous Grand Theatre of Havana, as well as dinner at an outstanding restaurant with live jazz! Your guide will meet you at your chosen time in the morning, then you will be transported to one of Havana’s famous cigar factories to receive a complete education on the process of Cuba’s world-renowned tobacco!
Following your visit to the cigar factory and Habanos store, you will be transported back to Old Havana for lunch at the restaurant of your choice (your guide can give recommendations). After taking lunch, you may have a time of rest if you please, then you will get a private lesson on how to make Cuban cocktails!
Just before dinner, you will take time to clean up and put on your best outfit to experience one of the best shows that Cuba has to offer at the Grand Theatre of Havana! But before that, your guide will take you to one of our favorite places in Old Havana, a quiet and private rooftop restaurant in the heart of the city. This restaurant was originally a colonial-style home constructed in the mid-1800s, yet now serves as a restaurant, art gallery, and BnB. After you have tamed your appetite, your guide will accompany you to your show at the Grand Theatre of Havana, home of the world’s largest ballet company!
Following the show, you may want to get your dancing shoes on and explore Cuban nightlife, but if not, your guide will drop you off at your BnB.
Day three will be icing on the cake as you step even deeper into Cuban history and culture. At the arranged time you choose, your professional guide will meet you at your BnB to begin your day. You will receive a completely comprehensive education of Cuban culture, history, folklore, and much more on a Old Havana Walking Tour. You will be walked through the city to learn of and visit some of its most historic and romantic sites like the Castle of the Royal Force, Plaza Vieja, the Havana Cathedral, La Bodeguita del Medio (one of Hemingway’s hangout), and so much more. You will meet local artists at their shops and might even bump into a few of Havana’s personalities. Who knows, you might even find yourself dancing to traditional Cuban music with locals in the street! Your Old Havana Walking Tour will begin in the morning in the oldest part of the city, and following lunch at the location of your choice (your guide can give recommendations), you will complete the walking tour in the Capitol Area visiting locations like an artisan’s market, Central Park, the Capitol, the Original Partagas Cigar Factory, and the Museum of the Revolution among others.
After your walking tour is complete, you will have the time and freedom to rest and clean up before dinner if you so choose. Your guide will then accompany you to another favorite restaurant of ours to dine on fine cuisine and enjoy live Cuban jazz. This is the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax, and take it all in as you wind down your final full day in Havana. If you choose, your guide will drop you off at your BnB after dinner. If you desire to explore the nightlife of Old Havana, you will be free to do so.
Most like to take the last morning easy, but if you want to get out and about on your last morning in Havana, your guide will meet you at your chosen time to explore and get your final taste of “the city frozen in time”. You will have time to purchase any last-minute souvenirs from local artisans and take those photos that you may have missed.
Three to four hours prior to your flight, you will be picked up by your private taxi driver and your guide will accompany you to the airport to say your final goodbyes and set you on your way.

I’ll have to admit I was slightly hesitant to go to Cuba due to the history between our two countries. I was totally wrong. I have visited many Latin American countries and I felt by far the safest in Cuba. My guide was great. (I’m sure that had a lot to do with it). Cuba has a very special and unique feel to it that can only be experienced there! I’m already booking my next trip and taking my wife. We are definitely using the same tour agency. It had been several years since I had traveled overseas, and these few days in Havana made me remember why I love it so much! To a certain extent, the fascinating history of Cuba speaks for itself, but Colby definitely does a great job of explaining it. His knowledge of Cuba’s history is incredible, and he shares an impressive amount during the Old Havana Walking Tour. Additionally, Colby’s people skills and organizational skills are obvious in the connections built; he’s a hard worker and hustler (in a good way) who seems to know every business owner (and maybe every person) in Havana. If you go on this tour, you’ll benefit from these connections, whether it’s through eating some amazing food (definitely recommend the Azul Klein at Esto no es un Cafe or the Sandwich Cubano at Lo de Monik) at the local restaurants, learning how to make (and drink) two traditional Cuban cocktails from a charismatic local bartender, or learning how cigars are made from an informative and friendly local guide. And I haven’t even touched on the beautiful beach, the incredible show, or the comfortable B&B (and oh my goodness, the fruit served every morning at breakfast!). Suffice to say that it was an incredible trip. If you go, Colby’s knowledge provided to you before and during the trip will make it an easy, safe, fun, and fascinating experience.

My Dad took me on a trip to Havana where we met our tour guide Colby. He was really knowledgeable about the history of Cuba and I learned a lot on our walking tours with him.
I think what I liked best though was how he introduced us to people while we were with him. It felt like he had friends everywhere and became friends easily with people he just met. Some guys came by with a guitar while we were at the beach and before I knew it they were passing the guitar around to me and Colby and everyone was playing and having fun.
Colby found plenty of opportunities for me to practice using Spanish, which I’m learning in school and he practically read my mind because I was thinking I’d like to bring home some recipes and without me even asking he was introducing me to a chef and asking if I could have the recipe for a dinner that I enjoyed.
He took us to some great restaurants, we heard live jazz and saw a cabaret show. It was a really fun trip and I hope I can go back and visit Cuba again soon with Colby.

Southern hospitality in Cuba!I really appreciate making our trip to Cuba a trip of a lifetime.It was beyond just a sightseeing or cookie-cutter experience.Colby made the trip personable and insightful. He cares for every detail of the trip as well as Cuban people.We just finished a 4 day Havana trip and blown away by the beauty of the town.Everywhere we went, Colby had a good connection and we were treated as one of the locals. The first thing you should know about Colby is that he knows EVERYBODY in Havana, or at least it seemed that way on the 4 day tour my son and I had with him. We wanted an early lunch and the restaurant wasn’t open yet but Colby’s friend was working so she let us in early and let us sit by ourselves in the rooftop dining section! Want a classic car tour in a pastel 1950s vehicle? Colby knows tons of those car owners. Heck Colby even knows all the street performers in town!
We had great food, interesting tours, fun times, but what I enjoyed the most was that he really took the time to get to know us. He cares for his travelers as much as he cares for the Cuban people, and that’s a LOT! He talked with my son and learned he was taking Spanish in school and that he wanted to be a chef, so at dinner one night when my son said he loved the meal, Colby said he knew the chef, Carla, (because of course he does!) and took Dylan to the kitchen and helped him ask her in Spanish for the recipe. She loved it and gave him a pen and paper to write it down. She said she was giving him her secrets, so when he becomes a chef and cooks that dish he has to call it “Ropa Vieja de Carla”. I don’t know anywhere you can get that kind of personal attention and the experience was priceless!
We’re hoping to travel to Cuba again soon and I wouldn’t use anyone but Colby!
